EQUIPMENT REMOVAL
  • Equipment or Items:
    1. purchased for $5000 or more
    2. display a gold AFCRI tag
    3. display a UPENN Property tag
    removal requires special paperwork and you should place a RF Helpdesk request for RF to remove the item for you.


  • All other (non-hazardous)Equipment purchased for less than $5000, is disposed via PSOM Space Planning and Operations: Move Request forms can be submitted online using the SPO website.

    The fee is $85 per form. Up to 5 small items may be included on one form. Anything with coolant or something extra large like a freezer may require additonal disposal fee. Be sure to remove any hazardous materials and decon if necessary: wipe down with 70% EtOH is usually sufficient but check with EHRS if you are unsure.
    1. Your MOVE TO location will be OTHER and you should enter Move to Trash.
    2. You will receive email confirmation of your request.
    3. Place a printout of the confirmation on the item(s)
    4. Remove all owner and upenn identifying labels, tags
    5. DO NOT leave trash equipment in hallways-keep in your area for pick up
